Michael J. Donnelly of STUDIO 44 has won many awards for photographic achievement. Among the most notable are two International First place awards he received at the World Wedding and Portrait Photographers Convention, (W.P.P.I) in 1998 and 2000.

These prestigious awards are unique for any photographer in Ulster and indeed the whole of the UK. By winning these competitions, Michael joins an elite band of photographers from around the world to have reached such heights.

He is also the first photographer in Ulster to qualify as a Craftsman from The Guild of Photographers UK. This is only awarded to any photographer who can prove a very high standard of wedding photography through exhibiting current examples of wedding albums, enlargements and negatives under stringent examination conditions.

Michael is presented with a plaque honouring his achievement of first place in the premiere image category section at WPPI. Michael has won Two first places at WPPI, in 1998 with his winning print "Heaven on Earth" and in 2000 with his winning print: - “Romance is in the Air”
 

Craftsman in Wedding Photography

Michael also achieved great notoriety in Ulster by becoming the first photographer to achieve the specialist qualification - "Craftsman in wedding photography". To reach these high standards, Michael had to undergo stringent examination of his work at Fuji house in London. A few other photographers have since followed Michael's footsteps to achieve their qualifications and have no doubt benefited as well. The extra work involved in the pursuit of higher standards is what makes Michael's photography so different. He is always trying to achieve better images and pictures that will stand out from the crowd. He will always capture the essential moments in a style and manner you will appreciate.
